How to calculate your alcohol level using Mypromille

Knowing you

As you could already see, in order to calculate it , Mypromille needs some informations first, basically the gender and the weight, this is asked when you first open the app, but it can also be changed anytime you want.

Percent or Permille ?

Per mille (from Latin per mīlle, “in each thousand”)^[1] is an expression that means parts per thousand.^[2] Other recognised spellings include per mil,^[2] per mill,^[1][3] permil,^[1] permill,^[1] or permille.^[4][5]

The term is more common in other European languages where it is used to express fractions smaller than 1%. One common usage is blood alcohol content, which is usually expressed as a percentage in English-speaking countries.

The app is able to show your level using both metrics, you can change that on the settings page.

Adding drinks

If you have reached to this point, congratulations, you are almost there, now you are ready to start adding drinks, basically Mypromille needs the size of the drink (cl / ml / ounces) and ABV (Alcohol By volume), you are going to have access to millions of beers in case you don’t know the ABV for certain brands.

What about custom drinks

If you don’t find you preferred drink or if you are drinking something different, no worries, as long you know the ABV and the size you can add customized drinks, see video below.
